Exodus is a book that reveals God to us. He is a God of the miraculous. He displays His care for His people in their bondage. He reveals His longsuffering when dealing with a king He knows will be disobedient and stubborn. He exhibits His power over Egypt and Pharaoh in delivering His people and defeating their enemy in the Red Sea and He manifests His provision for the wilderness journey and His promise of a land fl owing with milk and honey. Perhaps the supreme expression of God is seen in the decalogue, and the dwelling place that Moses is instructed to build that God might dwell amongst His people.

This book traces the narrative of Exodus, giving numerous practical applications as well as an insight into the types and shadows, none more so than in the chapters dealing with the tabernacle. The mix of faithfulness to the word of God, and application to the needs of the people of God, is coupled with much that seeks to exalt the Saviour.
