This verse is taken from:
Psalms 102 & 104
Psalm 102 is characterized by sorrow and solace, and has long been recognized as Messianic. Verses 24-27 are the key verses, to be read in conjunction with the opening verses of Hebrews 1. For example, “heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”, Heb. 1. 2. Again, we read, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth”, Col. 1. 16. They were “created by him, and for him”. Psalm 104 adopts for its general arrangement the pattern of Genesis 1, emphasizing the maintenance rather than the process of creation. Christ, in sharp contrast to the achievements of man, is:
The Master of Master-Builders, Psa. 102. 25; 104, 2, 3. He alone laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens in all their grandeur are His handiwork. He is the Architect and the Builder—He is everything. Sir Christopher Wren, the former well-known architect, was once asked for examples of his work; his answer was, “Look around you”. Similarly, we look around and see Christ’s handiwork. In Psalm 104, the heavens are described as a canopy that protects the earth, a tent-curtain under which we all dwell. Psalm 104. 3 refers to the upper chambers Of a house, built for solitude and retirement. The cloud-chariots and the wings of the wind suggest the swiftness of His coming for His people.
The Head of the Head-Gardeners, Psa. 104. 14, 16. These verses talk of the grass that He makes to grow, and the trees that He has planted. Grass seems a very simple thing to grow, and yet this cannot be done without God’s help.
King of Astronomers-Royal, Psa. 104. 19, 20. Astronomers only study what the Christ of God has created. He appointed the moon that governs the seasons and the calendar, and He controls the sun. Note the order—moon then sun—night then day—darkness then light—always the order in Scripture.
The Top of the Top Scientists, Psa. 104. 20. Man can make artificial light, but how can darkness be created? Only God can do that!
The Provider for the Providers, Psa. 104. 21, 27. All creatures that provide for their young wait upon the Lord.
Is He resident or president in our lives?
