It is true to say that many of us sing our hymns without considering very much about their authors and why they were written. Here in this ‘Companion’, we have laid out spaciously part of each hymn, and printed on the facing page brief details of the author’s life and the experience associated with respective hymns. Perhaps this could have been more useful if in more compact form, but to those who derive blessing from reading hymnology, this will prove enjoyable, and a stimulus to devotional though.
