This book, compiled by Robert Boyd, with a foreword by Dr. Stephen S. Short is a beautifully produced volume of the life and witness of Emily Gosse together with her published poems and samples of her prose writings. It is a wonderful testimony to her memory and an inspiration to others to follow in her faith. Dr. Short writes in his foreword: ‘With regard to the poetry … what a genius Emily was with words! She had a tremendous vocabulary, and she knew how to use it, and how to craft her sentences … and what a brilliant imagination she had! The spiritual quality of the poetry is first class. I cannot doubt that all who read the work will be spiritually enriched’. The poem on Abaraham, Genesis 22, is particularly beautiful.
Emily Gosse will make an excellent book as a gift and of course for personal reading too.
